Japan Customs Seize Counterfeit SD Memory Cards, Estimated Retail Value $30,000.
Tokyo-Gaiyu Customs Officials seized approximately 2,000 counterfeit SD memory cards infringing on the microSDHC trademark. The memory cards confiscated represent the export of infringing products leaving Chengdu City, China for importation into Japan.
In lieu of further legal action by SD-3C LLC, the importer agreed to forfeit the counterfeit memory for destruction under the supervision of Japanese Customs Officials.
