February 2018: Customs Raid Conducted on Electronics Company in Frankfurt Germany, Resulting in Seizure of Counterfeit SD Memory Cards

On February 20, 2018, a brand protection representative for SD-3C LLC ("SD-3C") joined German Customs Police as they raided an electronics company in Frankfurt am Main, which lead to the confiscation of over 2,000 counterfeit SD memory cards as well as hundreds of cell phone cases bearing a counterfeit microSD trademark. The estimated retail value of the goods had they been genuine is approximately $30,000.

The seized goods were found to be in violation of trademark and design rights. In addition, upon further inspection, SD-3C's rights representative found the counterfeit memory cards were either unreadable or contained no storage capacity, which is typical of counterfeit SD memory cards.

The investigation is directed at two individuals, and a criminal complaint on behalf of SD-3C LLC has been filed by German Customs Police and submitted to the Public Prosecutor.

These actions are pending.
