October 2014: Regional Court in Düsseldorf Germany Fines Importer $4,508 for Trademark Infringement

On or about March 10, 2014, German Customs seized 350 microSD memory card and adapter sets being imported into the town of Brakel by a local citizen. SD-3C LLC ("SD-3C") then filed a complaint against the individual for trademark infringement.

Per the default judgment rendered on October 1, 2014 by the Regional Court of Düsseldorf, the individual was found guilty of infringing SD-3C's intellectual property rights. Thus, the individual was fined and required to reimburse SD-3C $4,508 (approximately €3,208) for damages.

Further, the Customs Office confiscated the counterfeit microSD memory cards for destruction.
